What We Do
Sole Folks Garden
• Cultivates a self-sustaining community garden with edible foliage.
• Hosts events, provides educational opportunities, operates a café market, and offers co-working spaces to promote community interaction and sustainable living.
Sole Folks Art Lab
• Engages the community through workshops, live entertainment (poetry, music, singing), classes, and art exhibits.
• Fosters creativity and expression while promoting local artists and cultural enrichment.
Sole Folks Credit Union
• Operates as a community-owned and operated bank, providing accessible financial services and resources tailored to the needs of the community.
• Empowers individuals and businesses through financial literacy education and fair banking practices.
Sole Folks Vendor College
• Offers start-up business crash courses, strategic planning, and certification readiness programs.
• Equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their ventures and contribute to local economic growth.

Akil West
Akil West stands as a beacon of hope and resilience in Leimert Park. From humble beginnings, Akil has emerged as a pillar of strength, inspiring others with his entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication to positive change.
Akil's journey is one of redemption and transformation. Overcoming personal challenges, he embraced entrepreneurship as a path to self-discovery. Through determination and perseverance, Akil turned his life around, emerging as a shining example of what is possible with vision and drive.
